Sister Christine was born July 2, 1932 in Odum to the late Deacon Volney and sister Dinah Reddish Mobley.
Sister Chirstine attended the Appling County School System. After high school, she moved to Mizpah, NJ where she was employed in custodial care. After 5 years, she returned to Baxley to take care of her father.
Sister Christine was a member of First African Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board. Her passion was sewing, cooking and loved working in the yard, and tending to her flowers.
She leaves to mourn her passing 5 sisters, Elouise Givens, Washington, D.C., Ora Burnett, Mizpah, NJ, Daisy Reynolds, Sara Mobley and Mary Richburg of Baxley, six nieces, seven nephews, a host of grand nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Old Field Memorial Garden on Saturday, January 30 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. James B. Hayes giving the eulogy.
Active pallbearers were Willie Reynolds, Leon Richburg, Terrance Reynolds and Cedric Reynolds.
Honorary pallbearers were Ushers of the Community.
Musical selections were rendered by Gwen Ryals and Myrtice Johnson.
Professional services were entrusted to C. M. Brown Funeral Home.
