(Charlie) Charles Edward Dukes, 30, of Hazlehurst passed away on January 26, 2023. He was born June 06, 1992, and is preceded in death by his beloved grandpa, Israel Dukes, and his cousin James White.

Ask anyone who personally knew Charlie, and they will all tell you one thing; that he lived a very simple life with one main source of hope, love, and strength – his boys. From the day they were born, they were his life; all he talked about, repeatedly, was “I need to see my sons.”

He is survived by his children, Ethan and Eli Dukes of Baxley; parents, Charles and Sandra Dukes of Hazlehurst; sister, Miranda Dukes of Baxley; brother, Sam Dukes (and wife Amber) of Glennville; his babycakes and future wife, Kimberly Calhoun (and her boys Brently and Commer) of Hazlehurst; grandparents, Ethel Dukes, and Edward and Betty Taylor all of Hazlehurst; aunts Lisa Diers and Marie Taylor; uncles, Aaron Dukes, Silas Dukes (and wife Sheila), Bobby Dukes (and wife Pam); first cousins Aaron Dukes Jr., Daniel and Connie Dukes, Lee, Billy, and Gage Dukes, Candice and Jennifer Deen; nieces and nephews Zain Dyal, Maverick Travis, Jackson, Annabeth, and Nathan Hardee, Emily Rowland, Briley, and Hunter Dukes. He also had a long list of family and friends, with a special mention of Kesha Dukes, and Kayla Mathis.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, February 04, 2023, at 11:00 a.m in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home; his grandfather, Rev. Edward Taylor, and his mama, Mrs. Sandra Dukes, gave a tribute to her son, and Rev. Manford Gilbert officiated.

Wainright Parlor Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
