Betty Faye Jackson, 82, passed away peacefully in her Bluffton, SC home on April 17, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born July 9, 1940 in Surrency, Georgia to the late Bertie Maybelle and Stephen Clinton Bass. Mrs. Jackson was a native to Appling County where she raised her four children and worked as an accomplished seamstress until 1985 when she moved to Waycross, Georgia with her husband and continued her work until retirement. In 2001 she moved to Rincon, Georgia to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was a very nurturing and loving Wife, Mother and Granny. She and her husband were active members of Waycross Freewill Baptist Church until their move to Rincon, Georgia.
She had an enormous love for bowling and served as secretary for many bowling leagues through the years. She traveled throughout the state of Georgia playing in tournaments and was crowned Georgia Women’s Senior Bowling Queen in 2003. She also loved sharing her love of sewing with family and friends when she wasn’t cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Wayne Jackson, brothers Jacob Edward Bass, Stephen Clinton Bass and James Ernest Bass and Sister Sarah Nell Herndon.
She is survived by her children Donald (Priscilla) Stephens of Bluffton, SC, Greg (Natalie) Stephens of Rincon, Pam (Chris) Locascio of Bluffton, SC, Angela (Rick) Sotiropoulos of Bluffton, SC, sisters Thelma Rentz of Brunswick, Ann Patterson of Screven, and brother Larry (Glenda) Bass of Baxley, 10 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Miles-Odum Funeral Home in Waycross, Georgia Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 1:00 pm officiated by The Reverend John Rentz.
Active Pallbearers will be Justin Stephens, William Stephens, Daniel Stephens, Ethan Sotiropoulos, Coleman Sotiropoulos and Luke Locascio.
