Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral services for Mr. Artis Vaughn, 89, who passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Bacon County Hospital. Mr. Vaughn was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, a retired store manager with Gibson McDonald and Heilig-Meyers Furniture Companies and a member of the Baxley Church of God. 

Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Jessie Mae Vaughn; daughters, Sherry Vaughn and Julie Vaughn Carter and his parents, Miles and Zelma Vaughn. 

Surviving are his wife, Ettie Mae Vaughn; two sons, Miles and wife Gina Vaughn and George Vaughn; daughters, Brenda and husband David Gruber, Cindy and husband Warren Stewart and Tammy and husband Wayne Canady; son-in-law, Jimmy Carter; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and numerous other family members also survive. 

A private funeral service was held Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory with the Reverend Lamar Lee, Reverend Doug Weisel and Reverend Andrew Kersey officiating. 

Interment followed in the Friendship Congregational Christian Church Cemetery. 

Active Pallbearers were Mark Lee, Brian Carter, David Gruber Jr., Chancey Vaughn, Chase Vaughn and Tyler Vaughn. 

Honorary Pallbearers were the Adult Sunday School Class of the Baxley Church of God and Bill and Joyce Tomberlin. 

The family gathered at the home of Jimmy and Julie Carter at 1486 County Farm Road.
