EMS building burns

In the early morning hours of Friday, November 25, the Appling County EMS Building, on Fair Street, caught fire and caused considerable damage to the facility. Fortunately, all employees were able to make it out of the building safely according to EMS Director Jimmy Twiggs. The director also reported that all the ambulances were removed without any damage, including a new ambulance that had just been put into service.

Appling HealthCare reports that fire departments and emergency service agencies from throughout the surrounding areas quickly responded. Those departments included the City of Baxley Fire Department, Appling County Fire Stations, Jeff Davis Fire Department, Bacon County Fire Department, Bacon County EMS, Jeff Davis EMS, and Toombs County EMS.
