Baxley’s newest company, Carolina Atlantic, is a two-step distributor that provides roofing supplies to wholesalers throughout the country. Originally located in the Carolinas, the company has expanded to include 7 branches that serve the southern U.S. Their newest branch is located at 530 Frost Industrial Blvd, a former sewing factory that has been recently updated to include better lighting and new fibers to increase internet speed.
Tim Perryman, one of the company’s partners credits Dale Atkins, former executive director of the Development Authority, with facilitating the finding of a building in Baxley and making it work well for the company. Danny Johnson also worked tirelessly to get the building cleaned up and ready for the company to begin shipping orders the first week in September.
“I was really impressed with Danny,” Perryman said. “He had COVID in the middle of preparing the building for us and still managed to get it done on time. That’s dedication!”
The company specializes in the sale and transportation of roofing materials to local and regional dealers who then supply roofing companies. Perryman explains, “We sell exclusively to wholesalers and help our 1200+ customers to be fully stocked when roofing contractors come in to purchase materials. It’s our incredible partnerships with some of the best manufacturers in the country like GAF, Owens Corning, Certainteed, Atlas, and IKO that allow us to quickly and efficiently provide the highest quality products in the industry.”
The Baxley branch currently includes branch manager Josh Poe as well as a truck driver and warehouse associate. Craig Smith Jr. handles all outside sales for the branch, and the company is excited about its growth in the Georgia and Florida markets. According to Perryman, the company intends to hire up to fifteen employers once the branch is fully operational.
Carolina Atlantic’s Baxley Branch will be hosting a grand opening celebration on October 15 at the warehouse for many of their customers and suppliers. “Essentially, what we do is get out of bed every day, go to work, and take care of our customers to the best of our abilities,” Perryman said. “We have a multigenerational staff that loves working for our company and is committed to our mission and success. We are happy to be here in Baxley and look forward to being a part of this community for a long, long time.”
