Georgia’s Longest Yard Sale observed in Baxley

Peaches to Beaches was officially held in Baxley from Friday, March 14 and 15. The yard sale stretches along Hwy 341 and passes through Glynn, Wayne, Appling, Jeff Davis, Telfair, Dodge, Pulaski, Houston, Peach, Crawford, and Lamar Counties. Now in its 18th year, Georgia’s longest yard sale appears to be getting longer.
Vendors have begun to set up displays earlier in the week across the 200-mile route. Some sell individually, but others pay a fee to receive the Official Vendor designation. The selection includes clothing, antiques, toys, media, hardware, and more.

Peaches to Beaches is organized by Explore Hwy 341, Inc., a membership-based organization dedicated to promoting travel and economic growth along Hwy 341 from Barnesville to Brunswick, GA. Its mission is to support and sustain communities along the route by coordinating programs and collaborating with citizens, governments, businesses, and industries.
This event draws tourism across South Georgia, and many visitors from neighboring counties boosted the local economy by shopping in Appling County. Many people venture out just for the food and desserts, as virtually any flavor can be found at food trucks.
This year, inclimate weather held off until Sunday and the atmosphere was perfect for walking around.
