Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
On July 8, answered a call to Wayne Jones Road in reference to trespass. A complainant stated unknown person(s) took his two porch chairs from his front porch and put them in a field across the road from his house.
July 8, answered a call to Rogers Street in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated when he came home from work the back glass to the vehicle was broken.
July 9, answered a call to Norwood Street in reference to a child custody dispute. An ex-wife would not let the father have the child for visitation.
July 9, answered a call to Chad Claxton Road in reference to harassing phone calls. A complainant stated a subject keeps calling and harassing her and wishes for the subject to stop calling.
July 9, answered a call to Lake Mayers Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The subjects had a dispute concerning the selling of a vehicle.
July 9, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report thefts on Blackshear Highway. The complainant stated items were taken from a vacant mobile home and a dairy. Items taken were valued at approximately $90,000.00. Investigation continues.
July 10, answered a call to Asbury Church Road/Hill Top Road in reference to a juvenile child in the roadway. A three-year-old child was found walking on the roadway. DFACS was notified and the parents were found. DFACS talked with parents in reference to a safety plan.
July 10, during a routine traffic check on Pine Street Extension/City Circle Road, David Lee Robinson, age 35, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with driving with suspended license and probation hold.
July 10, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report threats that occurred at Carter’s Bite Landing. The complainant was harassed by another subject accusing him of stealing.
July 10, answered a call to Cauley Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The dispute was between a mother and a daughter.
July 10, answered a call to Bambi Lane in reference to threats/child custody dispute. An ex-wife stated her estranged husband threatened her because she would not let her husband see their child.
July 10, Answered a call to Johns Lane in reference to a dog bite incident. A complainant went to neighbor’s residence and a dog bit her. The complainant went to the emergency room for treatment.
July 10, answered a call to Daisy Lane in reference to harassing phone calls. A complainant stated an unknown person keeps calling her phone and she wishes for them to stop.
July 10, answered a call to Savannah Way in reference to a theft. The complainant stated unknown person(s) entered a residence and took a pistol and three rings. Items taken were valued at approximately $800.00. Investigation continues.
July 10, answered a call to Branch Road in reference to a dog bite incident. A complainant stated the neighbor’s dog jumped on his seven-year-old daughter and bit her in the face and scratched her left side. The daughter was taken to the emergency room for treatment. The neighbor shot his dog.
July 10, answered a call to Pickett Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A husband and a wife were having an altercation. Omar Vargas, age 32, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
July 11, answered a call to Hutcheson Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The husband was hitting his wife. Garrett Lee Worsham, age 20, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with battery.
July 12, answered a call to Cleave White Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated a subject took a 1987 Oldsmobile from her rental property. Investigation continues.
July 12, answered a call to Donnie Lewis Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. The altercation occurred between a father and a daughter. The father left the residence before the officer arrived.
July 12, Answered a call to Hoppy Trail in reference to a domestic dispute. The altercation occurred between a husband and a wife. The husband had left the residence before the officer arrived.
July 13, answered a call to Avery Lane in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated unknown person(s) had broke into the residence and stole a gold chain, set of earrings, two cell phones, a laptop computer with bag and charger, a Rolex watch, and approximately $100.00 in silver coins. Investigation continues.
July 13, answered a call to Spring Branch Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The dispute was between a husband and a wife.
July 13, the Appling County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with probation officer Greg Taylor conducted a probation search on a residence on Blackshear Highway. The probation search resulted in the arrest of William Elton Hall, age 48, of Baxley. Hall was charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felon, pills not in original container, VGCSA.
July 13, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report a theft on Highway 144. The complainant stated numerous items were taken from a vacant lot and mobile home owned by family members. The complainant further stated that items taken were valued at $8,000.00. Investigation continues.
July 13, during a routine traffic stop on No.1 South, Latonya Culbreath, age 22, of Jesup, was arrested and charged with improper tag display, obstruction of an officer and VGCSA/cocaine. Additional warrants to be taken on passenger of vehicle.
July 13, a drug transaction conducted at Wal-Mart parking lot resulted in the arrest of Christopher Michael Moore, age 28, of Baxley, and Benjamin Roy Burton, age 35, of Baxley. Both subjects were charged with VGCSA/oxocodone.
July 14, answered a call to Hill Top Road in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated when returning home, the door to carport was open. Found missing inside was a 42" Phillips flat screen T.V. Investigation continues.
July 14, answered a call to Curtis Tillman Road in reference to a dog bite. A complainant stated he was trying to breakup two dogs from fighting and got bit himself. The complainant was taken to ER for treatment.
July 14, answered a call to Piney Bluff Road in reference to a trespass. A complainant stated he saw a subject standing in the edge of his planted pines, when he attempted to make contact with subject he ran.
July 15, while serving a civil paper on Surrson Street, Charles Maurice Lewis, age 46, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
July 15, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report a theft. The complainant stated that subjects went to his property without permission and took items valued at $5,000.00. Investigation continues.
July15, answered a call to Crummey Road in reference to illegal dumping. An unknown person(s) dumped trash on family property.
July 15, answered a call to Crummey Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had taken a Snapon tool chest with various tools, old refrigerators and stoves from the property without permission. Items taken were valued at $2,000.00. Investigation continues.
