Mr. and Mrs. John W. Roper of Columbus are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Hayley Rebecca Roper, to Damian Lee Wells, son of Mrs. Kathy Sarconi of Commerce City, Colorado and Mr. and Mrs. John S. Wells of Centennial, Colorado.

Hayley is the maternal granddaughter of Helen Taylor Dubberly and the late J. L. “Red” Dubberly of Baxley. She is the paternal granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Jack Roper of Columbus.

Damian is the maternal grandson of the late William and Kathryn Broeren of Wisconisn and the paternal grandson of the late Fred and Francis Wells of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Hayley is a graduate of The Brookstone School in Columbus. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in International Business in 2001 and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Georgia in 2005. She graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia Law School in 2008. She is currently a litigation associate with McGuire, Wood, and Bissette, P.A. in Asheville, North Carolina.

Damian is a graduate of The Lowell-Whiteman School in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

He earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Mesa State University magna cum laude in 2007.

Damian is currently teaching fourth grade with the Asheville City Schools, North Carolina school system.

The wedding will take place on Saturday, June 19, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon at the Spencer Boyd Chapel on the campus of The Asheville School. All family and friends are invited to attend.
