Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following incidents handled by deputies with the Appling County Sheriff’s Department.

On Nov. 17, answered a call on Max Deen Drive in reference to a domestic. A complainant stated that the neighbor’s bulldog came into their yard and killed some chickens. The complainant tried to tie the dog up, but the dog was very aggressive. The complainant shot the dog. The owner of the dog was not at home during the time of the incident.

Nov. 17, answered a call to Essie Nail Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. The dispute was between parents and a child. When officers arrived, the offender stated he would act respectful to parents and listen to them.

Nov. 17, answered a call to Old Field Cemetery Road in reference to a dispute. The complainant stated that a man keeps coming on their property with a gun after being asked to stop. Investigation continues.

Nov. 18, answered a call to Lenox Road in reference to a dispute. The dispute occurred between an ex-husband and wife. The husband has a vehicle that he put in storage and the wife wants the vehicle. Both parties were advised to see their attorneys and the magistrate judge.

Nov. 19, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report a theft. The complainant stated he had left money over the sun visor of his vehicle and stated after returning from work his money was gone. The complainant also stated he thought he knew who had taken his money. Investigation continues.

Nov. 19, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report identity fraud. The complainant stated he had received a notice in the mail that he was to appear in Appling County State Court for a traffic violation. The complainant further stated he had not been in Appling County and that his driver’s license had been lost since March. Officers reviewed deputy car video which revealed complainant was not the driver which received the ticket. The ticket was dismissed and the true identity of the driver has been found.

Nov. 19, answered a call to Palmeto Circle in reference to harassment/simple battery. The complainant stated that the offender forced his/her way into residence and when the complainant tried to call 911, the offender snatched the phone away and pushed the complainant. The offender had left the residence before officers arrived. Complainant was advised to see the magistrate judge.

Nov. 20, answered a call to Valine Miles Road in reference to threats/harassment. A complainant stated a known subject came to residence and was asked to leave. Subject refused to leave. The complainant called 911 and when the responding officers arrived, the subject had left the residence. Subject was found later by officers and was asked not to return to complainant’s residence.

Nov. 21, answered a call to Barbeque Road in reference to a property dispute. The dispute was between an ex-husband and wife over who owned their bed. Ex-couple was advised to see the magistrate judge.

Nov.23, answered a call to Alpine Drive in reference to a domestic call. The dispute was between a husband and wife going through a divorce. Both parties were advised to see the magistrate judge.

Nov. 23, answered a call to Moody Cemetery in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated he had chosen a head stone to put on his burial plot and his mother had removed it. Investigation continues.

Nov. 23, answered a call to Sue Lane in reference to a Theft. Complainant stated that unknown person (s) cut into the lock on tool shed and had stolen several items. Investigation Continues.

Nov. 24, answered a call to Mony Street in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated someone had stolen some jewelry valued at $5,830.00 from her residence. Investigation continues.

Nov. 24, answered a call to Hwy. 341 East in reference to a theft. A complainant stated an unknown person had stolen a 2004 Travis 596 Powerlite Trailer from Southern Metal Works. The complainant stated the value of the trailer was approximately $40,000.00. Investigation continues.
