SECTION A1 – ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

1. Sealed proposals from Contractors will be received by the City of Baxley, hereinafter called the Owner, at the Baxley City Hall, 282 East Parker Street, Baxley, Georgia 31513, until 11:00 a.m., the time legally prevailing in Baxley, Georgia on May 7, 2010 for the following portion of the Water Works Park, Baxley, Georgia.

1. Construction of Water Works Park, including all site work, buildings, grading, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, irrigation, paving and site furniture, complete.

All bids will be opened and real aloud May 7, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Baxley City Hall, Baxley, Georgia.

At this time and place, all bids for this work will be opened and read aloud. This Contract will comply with all applicable Federal, State and Local Laws, Rules and Regulations as required.

Attention is called to the fact that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, creed, sex or national origin.

2. Bidding documents may be obtained at the Heart of Georgia Altamaha Regional Commission, 5405 Oak Street, Eastman, Georgia 31023. Applicants for bidding documents, together with deposit of $125.00 per set, should be filed promptly with the Heart of Georgia Altamaha Regional Commission. Bidding material will be forwarded, shipping charges collect, as soon as possible. The deposit will be nonrefundable.

No modification of a bid, either oral, written or telegraphic, will be considered.

3. Contract, if awarded, will be on a lump sum basis. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of thirty-five (35) days after date of opening. Bids must be accompanied by bid security in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid. Performance and Payment bonds will be required in amount equal to 100% of the Contract.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.

Please clearly mark on the outside of all envelopes containing a bid, that a sealed bid is enclosed.
