FORT STEWART COLOR GUARD PRESENTS COLORS DURING MEMORIAL SERVICE.
The Appling County Post 4472 Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) hosted a Veteran’s Day program on Saturday, November 8 at the Appling County Courthouse. Appling County Probate Court Judge Diane Hallman started the special time of remembering and honoring the men and women who have and are serving in the United States military with a beautiful invocation.

The color guard from Fort Stewart, posted the colors for the event and those in attendance were led in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the singing of the National Anthem by Sandra Nettles.

Several people made comments including the keynote speaker LTC Cormier, Sheriff Benny Deloach, Mayor Steve Rigdon, Chief of Police James Godfrey, Ronald Keller and Marvin Aldridge. The history and those who made the ultimate sacrifice from Appling County were read by girl scouts. Flags were also placed in remembrance of each conflict and war.
