Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following incidents handled by deputies with the Appling County Sheriff’s Department.
On November 28, answered a call to Old Ben Carter Road in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated unknown person(s) entered his residence and stole a Daewoo VCR and a Zenith T.V. Items were valued at $320.00.
Nov. 29, answered a call to VP Lynch Road in reference to an affray. The altercation occurred between neighbors. Bessie Arnett, age 23, of Baxley was arrested and charged with simple battery.
Nov. 29, answered a call to Tupelo Circle in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated his vehicle sustained damage to the rear quarter panel of his vehicle while parked at the Savannah Mall.
Nov. 29, an officer went to residence to attempt to execute a warrant, while on the premises, the officer found three juvenile children ages, ten, six and one left unattended. A Department of Family and Children worker was notified and transported the juveniles to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office. Parents were located at work. Children were placed in a temporary home while an investigation and administered a safety plan for the children is completed.
Nov. 29, answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to a criminal trespass. The complainant stated he found the offender asleep in the utility house behind the residence. Brittany Lee Crosby, age 21, of Savannah was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and obstruction of an officer.
Nov. 30, answered a call to Lamar Crosby Road in reference to a domestic. A verbal dispute erupted between acquaintances. The responding officers tried to talk with one of the subjects, which would not cooperate. Terry Bernard Crosby, 39, of Baxley was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
December 1, answered a call to Kate Mann Road in reference to trespass. The complainant stated a subject continues coming to her residence and she does not want him on her property.
Dec. 1, answered a call to Asbury Church Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that unknown person(s) stole a 380 caliber semi-automatic pistol from his pickup. The pistol was entered in GCIC as being stolen. The pickup was not locked at time of theft.
