Appling County Sheriff Benny Deloach reports that on September 5, at approximately 11:00 p.m., deputies answered a call to Appling Health Care in reference a gunshot victim. Thiomack Johnson, age 25, had a gunshot wound to the head. Johnson was transported to Savannah Memorial Hospital by LifeStar.
Initial investigation revealed that Johnson pulled into the yard at 55 Elizabeth Circle and unknown subjects came from behind the residence and shot through the windshield of the vehicle that Johnson was driving. Sheriff Deloach asks that if anyone has information about this shooting call the Sheriff’s Office at 912-367-8120.
On September 6, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Appling County Deputies and EMS were dispatched to a farm related accident on Craven Road. Ledley (Bullie) Baxley, age 83, was seriously injured by farm machinery. Baxley was transported to Memorial Hospital in Savannah and is listed in serious condition.
