The Baxley/Appling County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up to host the 17th annual “Celebration of Light” Christmas Parade. Each year local merchants, civic groups, churches, schools and businesses begin designing their float to see who will be the grand prize winner.

The parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6:00 p.m. In case of rain, the parade will be rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 7 at 6:00 p.m. Applications are available at the Chamber of Commerce, 305 West Parker Street. The deadline for parade applications is Wednesday, Dec. 3. There will be an entry fee charge.

Floats will be judged in the following categories; small business/industry, civic club, church and school, as well as an overall parade float winner.

Line-up will be from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. with judging at 5:30 p.m.

Make plans now to have an entry in the parade and be in town for the festivities.
