Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.

On Nov. 20 officers answered a call to Hwy 23 in reference to a two-vehicle accident. One of the passengers was transported to Bacon County Hospital by Bacon County EMS.

Nov. 20, answered a call to Buck Williams Road in reference to threats. The complainant stated a male subject keeps calling her and threatening to burn her house.

Nov. 20, answered a call to Red Oak Road in reference to a possible overdose. The victim took several prescribed medications, along with over-the-counter medication. The victim was taken to Appling ER for evaluation.

Nov. 22, answered a call to McLeod Circle in reference to a domestic dispute. The dispute was between family members. The father wanted the son, wife and children to move from his residence. The family left the residence.

Nov. 22, answered a call to Farm Road in reference to an unstable person. The subject was found in a ditch close to her residence and was very disoriented. The subject was taken to Appling ER to be evaluated by Pineland Mental Health.

Nov. 22, answered a call to Graham Zoar Road in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated his phone lines had been cut. While the officer was there the complainant wanted the officer to check a gun that had been purchased from an individual. The officer did a GCIC check and found the gun to be stolen from Savannah. The gun was taken as evidence. Mitchell Smith, age 52, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property.

Nov. 22, answered a call to Old Field Cemetery Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The dispute was between a husband and wife.

Nov. 23, answered a call to 1283 Golden Isles West in reference to a burglary. The business had been entered by cutting the lock, which appeared to be cut by bolt cutters. Missing from the business were three radiators and copper wire. Value of missing items was approximately $1,600.00. Investigation continues.

Nov. 23, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report a dispute.

The dispute was between a landlord and renter.

Nov. 24, answered a call to Hwy144 in reference to a possible D.O.A. The

family members found Randy White, age 56, a paraplegic, of Baxley, in his residence unresponsive. The Appling EMS arrived and called the coroner. White appeared to have died of natural causes.

Nov. 24, answered a call to Ricardo Street in reference to a theft. A complainant stated she noticed the gate was open and her three dogs were missing valued at $4,200.00. Later in the day the two of the dogs returned home and the dachshund was found on Miles Road.

Nov. 24, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report a theft. The complainant stated some friends came to her residence and went inside her home. When friends left she found money that was left on her counter top was gone. Investigation continues.

Nov. 25, answered a call to Ben Carter Road in reference to a vehicle fire. The Vehicle was totally destroyed.

Nov. 25, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report threats. The complainant stated she has been receiving threatening text messages from her boyfriend.

Nov. 26, answered a call to Jerome Street in reference to a domestic dispute. A physical altercation occurred between acquaintances. Henry Durham, age 46, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with simple battery.

Nov. 27, answered a call to Appling ER in reference to a domestic/affray that occurred on Hatch Parkway North. Investigation continues.

Nov. 27, answered a call to Cray Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The

husband of the victim shot a gun several times. The victim and children fled the residence. Marvin Ryals, age 54, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Further warrant is pending.

Nov. 27, answered a call to Zoar Road and Orvin Road in reference to a vehicle fire. A complainant stated that her vehicle stopped and caught on fire.

Nov. 28, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated that a girlfriend’s husband came to his residence and started a fight with him. Offender had left the residence before officer arrived.

Nov. 28, answered a call to Lackawanna Street in reference to a possible DOA. Caregiver, Diane Yvette Bryant, age 53, was found unresponsive. Coroner George O’Quinn was contacted, and when arrived he stated it appeared she had died of natural causes.
