Sheriff Deloach gives weekly report of activity 10-14-09

Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Department.

On Oct. 1, answered a call to Asbury Church Road in reference to cruelty to animals. The complainant stated her neighbor shot her dog. The neighbor stated she only intended to scare the dog away from her house.

Oct. 3, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report damage to property on Hwy. 144. The complainant was following a truck pulling a flatbed trailer when a rock left the trailer striking her windshield causing damage.

Oct. 3, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report a domestic dispute on Bradley Road. The dispute was between an ex-husband and ex-wife.

Oct. 3, answered a call to Moody’s Trailer Park in reference to an affray/fighting. The complainant stated a subject had jumped on him and beat him up possibly breaking his nose. The subject had left the scene before the officer arrived.

Oct. 4, answered a call to Hatch Parkway South in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated someone had entered his place of business by a bathroom window. Nothing appeared to be missing at the time of the report.

Oct. 5, answered a call to Old Ben Carter Road in reference to a threatening phone call. The complainant stated her ex-boyfriend threatened to kill her and take their child.

Oct. 5, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report a theft. The complainant stated that an unknown person had stolen her 1991 Isuzu Rodeo from her residence. The vehicle was entered on GCIC as a stolen vehicle. Investigation continues.

Oct. 5, answered a call to Piney Bluff Road in reference to trespassing. When the complainant came home he found and uninvited subject in his home. The subject left the residence after being shot at.

Oct. 5, answered a call to Hosea Lane in reference to a theft. A complainant stated he is missing his wallet and knows the suspects that may have taken the wallet. Investigation continues.

Oct. 6, answered a call to D.M. Tillman Road in reference to a trespassing. The complainant stated a person with a rollback trailer came into her yard and loaded her vehicle and drove off. Investigation continues.

Oct. 7, answered a call to Earl Cauley Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated 166 bales of pine straw had been stolen. Investigation continues.

Oct. 7, answered a call to Hwy 15 and Gene Turner Road in reference to a vehicle trailer fire. The Red Oak Fire Department responded and put the fire out. The victim stated the trailer was half full of pine straw bales. Total value of loss of trailer and straw was $5,796.60.

Oct. 7, a routine traffic stop South Main Street, resulted in the arrest of a passenger of the vehicle. Jerry Dwayne Isenhour, age 32, of Augusta, was arrested and charged with VGCSA/marijuana and warrants pending.

Oct. 7, answered a call to Bradley Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The altercation occurred between an ex-husband and ex-wife.

Oct. 7, answered a call to Ryan Crosby Road in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated someone had kicked in the front door and went inside residence and took a silver 38 pistol (Smith and Wesson) and also a Winchester automatic 22 caliber rifle. Investigation continues.

Oct. 8, answered a call to Earl Cauley Road in reference to a burglary. The complainant reported seeing an unknown male come out of her back door and run into the woods. Officer patrolled the area and was unable to locate the subject.

Oct. 8, answered a call to Parkers Convenience Store, of Surrency, in reference to a gas drive-off incident.

Oct. 8, answered a call to Alma Lane in reference to a theft. Taken from under a carport was a 110 Kawasaki motorcycle, black and silver in color, valued at $300.00. Investigation continues.

Oct. 9, answered a call to Hwy 341 in reference to debris on roadway. Pallets were on the roadway and had been run over by several vehicles strewing debris all over highway. DOT and Appling County Road Department was notified to assist in the removal of the debris. The owner of the vehicle carrying pallets was located and issued a citation for unsecured load.

Oct. 9, a routine traffic stop on U.S. 1 North and Piney Bluff Road resulted in the arrest of Rodney Steven Edwards, age 30, of Baxley. Edwards was charged with speeding, pills out of original container and possession of a controlled substance.

Oct. 9, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report harassing phone calls. An ex-boyfriend of the complainant had called her on her cell phone and sent threatening messages.

Oct. 9, a routine traffic stop on City Circle and Pine Street resulted in the arrest of Atosha Howard, age 28, of Baxley. Howard was charged with possession of marijuana and driving without license.
