Several drug arrests made by deputies

Sheriff Benny Deloach reports the following incidents handled by deputies with the Appling County Sheriff’s Department.

Sept. 11, answered a call to Buckhead Road in reference to a theft. Taken from residence was a Down to Earth Trailer, black in color with a fold down tail gate, valued at $2,000.00. Investigation Continues.

Sept. 12, answered a call to West River Road in reference to an unruly person. An intoxicated person came to the complainant’s residence threatening to cut the tires on her vehicle and left before officer arrived.

Sept. 12, during a routine license check on Lake Chapel Church Road, it was reveled that a passenger of a vehicle had possession of what appeared to be crystal meth and also drug related object. Dewayne Johnson, age 53, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with VGCSA. Johnson has bonded out.

Sept. 13, answered a call to Quincy Lane in reference to shots fired. Officers arrived to find a mobile home had been hit several times by gun shots, also a Ford Explorer that was parked in the yard had been hit twice along with the mail box also being hit by gun shots. Investigation revealed three juveniles were responsible and were turned over to the Juvenile Justice Authorities.

Sept. 13, answered a call to Vernon Williams Road in reference to a possible suicide attempt. Upon officer arrival subject was found to have taken a large quantity of pills and drinking alcoholic beverage. Subject was transported to Appling ER.

Sept. 13, answered a call to Cleland Lane in reference to a Domestic. A husband and wife had a dispute, which lead to physical abuse. David Eston Murray, age 71, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with Simple Battery.

Sept. 15, answered a call to Causey Road in reference to possible animal neglect. While officers checked the animals, two green bushes of suspected marijuana was also found. Plants were given to ADTF Agent Dixon. In connection with the above, Ricardo S. Herrera, age 44, of 610 Jekyll Road, admitted he was the owner of the plants and was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and transactions in drug related objects.

Sept. 15, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report a theft. The complainant stated an unknown person went into his house and took a Mikota Tool kit black in color. Investigation revealed that Philip Albert Crosby, age 47, of Baxley, had pawned the tool kit at local pawnshop. Crosby was arrested and charged with burglary.

Sept. 16, answered a call to Gene Road in reference to a theft. Taken from residence was a Ruger P-89 9mm pistol stainless steel valued at $700.00. Investigation continues.

Sept. 18, while executing a warrant at 9157 Hatch Parkway North, the Appling County Sheriff’s Office, ADTF, and Ga. Probation Officer arrested Stanford Lamar Jordan, age 35, of Baxley. Jordan was charged with simple possession of marijuana and VGCSA - crack cocaine.

Sept. 18, answered a call to Sandy Road in reference to a disturbance. Offenders entered residence without permission and complainant called 911. Offenders left before the officer arrived. Offenders returned later and assaulted a male subject living in the residence. Subject was transported to Appling ER for medical treatment. Investigation continues.

Sept. 18, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report identity theft.

The complainant stated her credit card company notified her that an unknown person had tried to make a $900.00 purchase on a web site using complainant’s credit card information. Company denied the request and complainant stated the card has since been canceled.
