How much does she mean to
you?
Sunday, May 11 is Mother's
Day. Last week I wrote about my Dad's birthday being on May 1.
Let me say that Mother's Day (May 11) brings a remembrance of
my mother, who was one of the most gentle, loving people I have
ever known. She was a woman who stayed at home, and never had
anything bad to say about anyone. I miss her greatly. She was
instrumental in shaping my life
All mothers should be recognized on Mother's Day. She is the
one who nurtured you in her womb for nine months and brought
you forth to enjoy the supreme blessing on earth, that is, life.
Mother guides you through infancy and turns the soft, helpless
creature into the power and successful YOU. She is the guardian
angel protecting you and supporting you, feeling for you and
serving you silently always with a smile on her face.
She prides herself in watching you grow and provides you a shoulder
to cry whenever you need. She is every child's best friend.
Actually, every day should be Mother's Day.
Here are two humorous paragraphs concerning mothers:
The hand that rocks the cradle usually is attached to someone
who isn't getting enough sleep.
I'd like to be the ideal mother, but I'm too busy raising my
kids.
Many of us have mothers who are no longer with us. Let's still
remember them on this special day, and for those, whose mothers
are still alive, please show them how much you love them.

Food Bank offers sincere
gratitude
Dear Editor,
The Appling County Food
Bank would like to thank the people of Appling County for their
continued support over the past five years of service to the
community. The Food Bank is able to provide food at no cost to
low income families through the support of churches, individuals,
grants, schools and community food drives. Financial donations
allow the food bank to purchase low cost food from America's
Second Harvest in Savannah.
The Food Bank would like to thank all those volunteers who give
many hours of unselfish service to make this ministry possible.
The Food Bank over the last 12 months has given away to those
in need 82,728 pounds of food. This has been distributed to 1,342
households, serving 3,234 people. The Food Bank is a continuing
ministry of Appling County Ministerial Alliance; Community Connection;
America's Second Harvest; and dedicated volunteers.
The Appling County Food Bank is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
with hours; 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. To volunteer, make a donation

Dear Editor, faithful

As President of Appling
