Junior B. Carter, 70, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at Chandler Hospital in Savannah. Mr. Carter was born Dec. 21, 1940 in Baxley and had resided in Jesup. He was retired and before retirement he was working in agriculture. Junior was the son of the late Bernice Carter and the late Retter Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Carter of Jesup; one son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Pat Carter of Baxley; three sisters, Lawanda Boyd of Waynesboro, Louise Rentz of Baxley and Frances Prescott of Baxley; one brother, L. C. Carter of Cochran; one grandson, Kole Walker (Chastity) of Baxley; two great-grandchildren, Katelyn Walker and Brayden Walker of Baxley.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14 in the chapel of David E. Miles Funeral Home with the Revs. Johnny Lee and Rick Brown officiating. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Kole Walker, Donnie Rentz, Earl Beecher, Tracy Bennett, Kevis Bennett, Kevin Spell, Lamar Hand, Barry Crosby, Zack Goble, and Chris Brown.
Honorary pallbearers were the staff of Jesup Health Care and Rayonier Maintenance Department.
Musical selections were rendered by Rome Primitive Baptist Church Dixon Union Choir.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
