Walden reunion planned
The sixth North GA Walden Descendants Reunion will be held on Saturday, July 23, in Dahlonega (of which many relatives are from Appling County) at the Lumpkin County Parks and Recreation Center, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Other events include an ice cream fellowship at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 22, at Yahoola Baptist Church and a Sunday morning Family Worship Service at 9:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
If you have an ancestor who was a Walden, your roots go back to Colonial America.
The first Walden women in North Georgia married into the Grizzle, Davis, Calhoun, Stargel, Smallwood, Ledford, Hicks, Kiker, Hawthorn, Nixon, Jeffres, Loggins, and Abercrombie families. Come and share in the celebration of our family heritage.
This year’s theme is “Hat Day”. A Family Tree / History CD will be given to each family.
