Hugh Delton Gowder Moody was born in Jesup and first lived in Baxley. He was the son of Mary Eugenia (Moody) and Hugh Odell Gowder and was raised by his grandmother, Alice Milton Moody. He is survived by his wife, Victoria Joyce (Johnson) Moody and children, Hugh D.G. Moody II and daughter, Maria Eugenia Moody.
Delton earned a bachelor degree in Business and Real Estate from the University of Georgia. After having his fill of the business world he found his true passion making jewelry and art in copper, silver and gold.
On May 25, 2016 at 4:55 p.m. Del Moody passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Landmark Hospital in Athens. Del had been battling a severe blood infection and organ failure since Nov. 16 2015.

A remembrance gathering will be held at OCAF in Athens on June 11, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
