Miles-Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the services for Imelda Eason Sorrell, age 84, who passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at Twin Oaks Convalescent Center. She was born on October 18, 1931 to Thomas T. and Nora Edwards Eason. Mrs. Sorrell was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County; a retired homemaker and a member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Sorrell; two grandchildren, Scott Walker and Dale Johnson; parents, Thomas T. and Nora Edwards Eason; a son-in-law, Spencer Taylor; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Johnson; two brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include four children, Latrelle Aycock and husband, Alvin, Earl Johnson and wife, Mary, Jean Taylor and Ricky Johnson all of Baxley; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Hal Eason of Baxley; one sister, Inez Wade of Jacksonville, FL; one special niece, Wilda Lott of Alma; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Miles Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Elder Jerry Lightsey officiating.
Interment followed in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation was held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Active Pallbearers were Sean Johnson, Dustin Harrelson, Triston Carter, Brody Taylor, Nick Spell and Connor Floyd.
Honorary Pallbearers were the staff of Twin Oaks Convalescent Center.
