The descendants of the Phillip Deen R. S. will host their 52nd annual family reunion on Saturday October 3. The reunion will be held in the activity room at the Amelia by the Sea Condo, 3240 South Fletcher Ave. in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
Inform the gate person to the Condo parking area you are entering to attend the Deen Reunion and he will direct you to the activity room.
Phillip Deen was a Revolutionary War solider in Coleman’s Company 10th North Carolina Regiment. Phillip had two sons, Nathan and Sterling. It is Nathan who most of the Deens of Appling County descend. Nathan’s son Smith Deen was the first to migrate to South Georgia coming to Appling County in 1820. Smith’s two brothers Martin and Jesse came to Appling County around 1822. These families were early pioneers of Appling County as well as Bacon, Ware, and Coffee County. Later generations of the Deen family were early pioneers of Flagler County, Florida.
Registration is at 11:00 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12:00 p.m. A short business meeting will follow after the meal. Bring your favorite dish to share with the family.
Thank you,
