Vinney Odell Dyal
Vinney Odell Dyal, 82, died Monday, June 13, 2011 in the Pavilion. Mrs. Dyal was born June 24, 1928 in Appling County to the late Warren Courson, Sr. and the late Katie Crosby Courson. She was a member of Satilla Baptist Church. Mrs. Dyal was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Dyal, Sr.
Survivors include one son, Willie Dyal, Jr. of Baxley; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Melissa and Ricky Branch of Baxley; two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Thomas Fleming of Hazlehurst; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lee and Clifton Taylor of Savannah and Hilda and Barney Hayward of Swainsboro; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16 in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Revs. Tommy Davis and M. L. Ricks officiating. Interment followed in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ricky Branch, Albert Dyal, David Earl Courson, Mitchell Taylor, Henry Crosby, Randall Odum and William Teston.
Honorary pallbearers were Adult and Senior Adult Classes of Satilla Baptist Church and the Pavilion.
Musical selections were rendered by Tammy Nix and Lafayette Crosby.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
