Subject found dead in motel, body sent to lab
According to Police Chief James Godfrey on June 13 at approximately 11:39 a.m. officers of the Baxley Police Department and the Appling County Sheriff’s Office answered a call to the Pine Lodge Motel in reference to an unresponsive person.
On arrival officers accompanied management to room 145 where they discovered a male subject lying on the bed and was unresponsive to them. The E.M.S. was called to the scene for possible medical attention. On arrival the E.M.S. personnel advised that the male subject, identified as Ryan Alexander Hill, 22, of Baxley, was deceased.
The coroner was called to the scene, where the body was turned over to him and has been sent to the State crime lab for further investigation. The G.B.I. has been called in to assist in the investigation.
