Brenda Parker Brantley received her wings on Saturday, June 6, 2015. She was born to Lamar and Doris Williams Parker in Jeff Davis County. She graduated from Jeff Davis High School in Hazlehurst. She was a CNA for many years before her health failed. She was a member of the St. Matthew A. M. E. Church and she attended A Voice Crying for Souls Outreach Ministry. She loved the Lord and enjoying working for Him. She always had an encouraging word for those she met. She enjoyed putting a smile on another’s face.
She leaves to cherish many fond memories, her husband, Calvin Brantley; her children Briyanna Brantley and Christopher Brantley; a special godchild, Jamarious Pearsey, all of Baxley; her parents, Lamar and Doris Parker of Baxley; her grandmother, Mother Louise Williams of Hazlehurst; sisters and brothers: Hansel (Merion) Williams of Baxley, Cynthia (Eddie) Perrymon, Douglasville, Peggy (Terry) Wooten), Phyllis Parker, and Marvin Parker, all of Baxley, Dorothy (DeWayne) Bradley of Dallas, Elwaner Parker of Baxley and Jamie (Gale) Parker of Beaufort, SC;brothers and sisters-in-law: Pearl Ware, Aaron (Patricia) Brantley, both of Atlanta; Danny (Teresa) Brantley of Virginia Beach, VA; Napolean Brantley, Norman Brantley, Earl Brantley, Sampson Brantley, Helen (Eddie) Harmon and Senior Phillips, all of Hazlehurst. A host of aunts, uncles, 16 nieces and nephews, countless godchildren and special friends of the family: Calvin Gilcrease, Cathy Russell and Phyllis Pope-Williams.
Funeral services for Brenda Parker Brantley were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13 at Bennett Tabernacle Holiness Church, MLK Drive, Hazlehurst. Eulogy was given by Pastor Elijah Frazier.
Active Pallbearers were Carlos Thomas, Kyler Williams, Calvin Gilcrease, Joey Gilcrease, Norman Brantley and Cameron Parker.
Interment was held at St. Matthew A. M. E. Church Cemetery.
King Brother Funeral Home of Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.
