Chief of Police James Godfrey reports that on June 2 officers from the Baxley Police Department, and the Appling County Sheriff’s Office, assisted agents of the Altamaha Drug Task Force, and the G.B.I., in executing a search warrant at 746 Fair Street. This search is the culmination of several months of under cover investigations, which were conducted by agents of the Altamaha Drug Task Force and the G.B.I.
Arrested in connection with this incident were Antwon Lamar Jones, 34, of 746 Fair Street, on charges of one count each of trafficking in cocaine, obstruction of a police officer, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamines with the intent to distribute, along with a parole violation, and two counts possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and Timothy Tobler, 28, of a Lumber City address, on charges of one count each of possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute. Both Jones and Tobler are currently in custody in the Appling County Detention Center, awaiting further judicial proceedings.
