Kenley Lamb, the district essay contest winner read her winning essay (If I Were Mayor, I would...) before the council at the regular city council meeting May 24. Mayor Steve Rigdon announced that Kenley went on to state with her winning essay. He further stated Kenley was honored with a luncheon at the 755 Club at Turner Field in Atlanta. The mayor treated Kenley and her guests with a ride in a limousine to Turner Field. Kenley’s mother and grandmother accompanied her at the city council meeting. The mayor reported that there were 6,000 applicants submitted and Kenley was one of the top 12 in the state. The mayor and city manager commended Kenley for her immense accomplishment.
