Betty Joyce Blanton Mann
Betty Joyce Blanton Mann, 84, of Surrency, died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Mann was born in Appling County on June 17, 1926 to the late J. W. “Jobe” Blanton and the late Berdie Medders Blanton. She was a member of Memorial Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Mann was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer (Babe) Mann.
Survivors include one daughter, Marcia (Kenneth) Brown; one son, Gene (Beth) Mann; one brother, J. W. Blanton; four grandchildren, Alex Brown, Jonathan (Kayla) Mann, Adrienne (Justin) Taylor and Haley Mann; and two great-grandchildren, Kaydan Mann and Lincoln Job Mann also survive.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23 at Memorial Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Mann, Thomas Wicker and the Rev. Amos McMillan officiating. Interment followed in
Memorial Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Justin Taylor, Alex Brown, Jonathan Mann, Thomas Wicker, Wesley Wicker and Greg Mann.
Musical selections were rendered by Alex Brown.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
