The City of Baxley will hold a Called Meeting on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall located at 282 E. Parker Street, Baxley, Georgia. The primary purpose of the called meeting is a public hearing, as well as any other business that may come before the Mayor and Council. The public hearing will offer opportunities for comments on a Zoning Amendment filed by Latrelle D. Yawn for property located at 806 Tippins Street. The petitioner request her property be re-zoned from the present Residential(RM-10) Zone to a Business(B-2) Zone. Legal description as follows:
All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the City of Baxley, Appling County, Georgia, consisting of subdivision lots nos. 35 and 43, Block D, of what is known as Barber Heights Subdivision, a plat of which is or record in Office, Clerk Superior Court, said County, plat Book No. 1, page 37. Said subdivision lots are in one body of land located on south side of and adjoining U. S. Highway No. 341 for a distance of 70 feet and extending back southward in strip of equal width for a distance, of 210 feet and is bound; North by U. S. Highway No. 341; east by what is known as the Everett Stipe tract of land; south by Tippins Street and west by the Dunn land. This is the tract of land conveyed from R. M. Dunn to Mrs. Robert L. Dyal by deed dated August 21, 1946, recorded deed book no. 60, page 81.
