ACHS 4x100 team best in state
The Appling County Pirates Boys track team 4x100-meter relay team was the State 2AA Champions with a time of 42:15 at the recent State Track Competition in Jefferson. The boys team placed sixth overall with 26 total points.
The final results from the state meet are as follows:
4x100-meter relay: Tevin Fedrick, Kevin Moss, Donnell McMillan and Jordan Vann placed first and are State Champs with a time of 42:15.
1600-meter: Zack Williams, placed fifth with a time of 4:41.09.
100-meter: Tevin Fedrick, placed fifth with a time of 11.08 and Jordan Vann, placed sixth with a time of 11:20.
4x400-meter relay: Jeremy Hayes, Dennis Williams, Zack Williams and Jordan Vann, placed sixth with a time of 3:33.76.
800-meter: Zack Williams placed seventh with a time of 2:05.50. Congratulations to the coaches and participants.

The Appling County Boy’s track team placed first in the Region 2-AA track meet.

400-meter: Jeremy Hayes, placed third with at time of 51.28 and Dennis Williams, placed fourth with a time of 52.22.
110 hurdles: Kevin Johnson, placed fifth with a time of 16.88 and Stanley Jordan, placed seventh with a time of 17.66.
300 hurdles: Kevin Johnson, placed second with a time of 41.06 and Stanley Jordan, placed seventh with a time of 45.68.
800-meter: Zack Williams, placed first with a time of 2:03.94 and Dennis Williams, placed third with a time of 2:07.74.
1600-meter: Zack Williams, placed first with a time of 4:34.88 and Ronald Handsome, placed eighth with a time of 5:28.66.
3200-meter: Ronald Handsome, placed fourth with a time of 12:21.94.

High jump: Dennis Williams, placed second with a jump of 6 feet, 2 inches. Kevin Johnson, placed third with a jump of 6 feet, 2 inches.
Long jump: Tevin Fedrick, placed third with a jump of 20 feet, 6-1/2 inches. Jordan Vann, placed fourth with a jump of 20 feet, 3-1/4 inches.
Shot put: CJ Nail, placed fifth with a throw of 44 feet, 2-3/4 inches. Ibn Sumner, placed seventh with a throw of 42 feet, 3 inches.
Discus: Quincy Reed, placed eighth with a throw of 107 feet, 08 inches.
