Miles-Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of Terry Jean McLeod, 59, who passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Pavilion under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.
She was a native of Glynn County and had spent most of her life in Baxley and Hazlehurst. She was a graduate of Appling County High School in 1972 and was a dedicated basketball player for the Lady Pirates. She played softball for the Men’s Den and retired from Hazlehurst Mills.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ivey “Pete” and Edna McLeod; a sister, Joyce Hart McLeod and a beloved dog of 19 years, Maggie.
Survivors include one sister, Lisa (Richard) Walker of Baxley; one brother, Swain McLeod of Jesup; a special aunt, Shirley Rouse of Baxley, one niece, Kristal Walker; two nephews, Jason Walker and Jonathan Walker; two great nieces, Madison Walker and Brilee Walker and her buddy, Yolanda Thomas.
Visitation was held Tuesday, May 20 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Miles-Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Donald Rouse and Lisa Walker speaking. Interment followed in Melton’s Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Michael Ussery, Ronnie Walker, William Griffin and Winston Mincey.
Honorary pallbearers were the Pavilion “B” Hall Nurses and Comfort Care Hospice.
