The Appling County Pirates (15-8 Overall, 12-4 region 1-AAA) won two out of three this past week starting with two region wins over Savannah High (0-12, 0-12) on April 15 by forfeit.
The Pirates next game came against region foe Pierce County (19-3, 16-1) on April 17 with the Pirates losing a tight game 3-4.
The Pirates start the final week of the regular season at home against Ware County (16-6, 10-2 3-AAAAA) on Monday, April 21. The Pirates will then host New Hampstead (5-16, 5-10) on Tuesday, April 22 and finish at Brantley County (8-10, 7-6) on Friday, April 25.
The Pirates hosted a Saturday afternoon game on April 5 against archrival Pierce County.

The Pirates started sophomore Griff Faircloth on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings and giving up six hits and three runs. Stacy Davis entered the game in relief of Faircloth and pitched 3.1 innings and allowed four hits, two runs, and struck out three. The Pirate offense was kept off balance by the effective off-speed pitching of Stetson Smith. The Pirates offense managed to scratch out five hits in the game. Gage Patton had two singles, Cody Thomas singled, Triston Carter singled, and Connor Simmons singled for the fifth hit. Keelan Crosby scored the only run of the game from third base on a pass ball. The Pirates were defeated 1-5 in a hard fought matchup.
