Rachel Elizabeth (Tuinstra) Delisle, 30, of Jacksonville, N.C., died Saturday, February 15, 2014 in a tragic motor vehicle accident. Rachel was born April 3, 1983 in Warner Robins to Jeffrey Simon and Elizabeth Logue Tuinstra.
Rachel graduated with honors from Appling County Comprehensive High School in Baxley in 2001 and went on to graduate with honors from Waycross College. Rachel was a member of Centerville United Methodist Church in Centerville. She and her family attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, N.C., where her husband, 1st Lt. Jason Robert Delisle, U.S.M.C., is currently stationed.
Rachel is survived by her husband, 1st Lt. Jason Robert Delisle; her three sons, Michael, Jason Jr., and Gabriel; parents, Jeff and Elizabeth Tuinstra of Savannah; one sister, Katie Tuinstra of Statesboro; maternal grandparents, Edward and Mary Frances Logue of Byron; paternal grandparents, George and Ingrid Tuinstra of Grand Rapids, MI; and her best friend, Tara Linebarger of Hazlehurst. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, February 19, at 2:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Funeral services were held at McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins on Friday, February 21. Visitation was at 1:00 p.m. and the funeral followed at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Eugene Barlow officiating. Interment followed in Magnolia Park Cemetery in Warner Robins.
Pallbearers were Doug Mitchell, Brian Mitchell, Stephen Bell, Nathan Langmack, Thomas Combs and Patrick Guthrie.
