For some time now, Larry and I have wanted to go to Richmond, Virginia, to visit our youngest son Josh and his chocolate lab Bentley. The drive is a mere nine hours if you don’t stop often. I don’t even drive to Atlanta without stopping several times. We decided we were definitely going and then debated on how to make the trip itself. Perhaps we’d drive half way, stop and spend the night, and finish the trip the next day—a feasible plan, but it would cut into our visiting time. Finally, Larry, who comes up with a good idea every now and again, suggested that we take Amtrak.
