Sheriff Benny DeLoach reports that on March 15, deputies of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office made a routine traffic stop on Highway 341 that led to the arrest of Felton Cornell Hall, 33, of Atlanta, and Eugene D. McCoy, 54, of Hazlehurst. Hall was charged with DUI, and failure to drive within a single lane. McCoy, a passenger, was charged with V.G.C.S.A./cocaine.
Mar. 10, answered a call to William Copeland Road in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had gone inside his shop and took two toolboxes valued at $300.00. Investigation continues.
Mar. 12, answered a call to a residence at Highway 144 in reference to a neighbor dispute, which led to the arrest of Kelvin Matthew Dean, 46, of Baxley. Dean was charged with disorderly conduct.
Mar. 13, answered a call to Dunn’s Lake Road in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Due to public safety the vehicle was towed.
Mar. 13, answered a call to Blackshear Highway in reference to harassment. The complainant stated a subject continues to call, text and come to her residence. The subject was advised not to have any contact with the complainant.
Mar. 14, answered a call to Willow Lane in reference to a domestic, which led to the arrest of Darvin Tyler Harris, 42, of Baxley. Harris was charged with aggravated assault.
Mar. 14, answered a call to Pickett Road in reference to a domestic, which led to the arrest of Gregory Deen, 44, of Baxley. Deen was charged with disorderly conduct.
Mar. 14, answered a call to a local business in reference to a fire. A motorist passing by noticed a vehicle on fire. A deputy and the fire department extinguished the fire. Investigation continues.
Mar. 14, answered a call to April Lane in reference to a domestic dispute/civil matter. The complainant stated his wife left with his Kia Sportage, money from his wallet and her clothes.
Mar. 15, answered a call to Asbury Church Road in reference to a two-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
Mar. 17, answered a call to Blarney Road in reference to an unruly subject. A complainant stated his family member became irate. Responding officers talked with the unruly subject and the matter was resolved.
