Tyler Williams is the 2011 Appling County High School Salutatorian. She is the daughter of Rodney Williams and Pam Williams. During her high school career, Tyler has participated in a variety of clubs and organizations at Appling County High School.
Tyler has been a member of the Appling County Varsity and Competitive Cheerleading Squad for four years and was named Captain of the squad this year. She is an active member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes where she serves as a Huddle Leader and a volunteer at Special Olympics and the Appling County Sunshine Center. Tyler is also a member of Beta Club, FFA, Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council, 4-H, and Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA). She has also served as the President of her class all four years of high school. She was named President of HOSA and competed in both the 2010 and 2011 State Leadership Conferences, and received 2nd place in State at the HOSA Dental Spelling Competition.
Throughout high school, Tyler has accumulated many awards including the Top 10 Award for four years, the American Government Award, the Health Occupations 1 & 2 Awards, the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Award, Governor’s Honors Nominee, and the National Merit Scholar Award. Tyler was honored to be chosen by her class as Best All Around and Most Intellectual Senior Class Superlatives. Tyler will be attending East Georgia College in the fall and plans on pursuing a degree in the medical field.
