Sheriff Benny Deloach reports that on Feb. 14, a routine traffic stop on Fair Street led to the arrest of Jeremy Shawn Forehand, 33, of Baxley, and Justin David Chancey, 30, of Baxley. Forehand was charged with V.G.C.S.A./methamphetamine, V.G.C.S.A./marijuana. Chauncey was charged with V.G.C.S.A./methamphetamine.
Feb. 16, a routine traffic stop on Anthony Street led to the arrest of Erica Sharee Wertz, 30, of Alma. Wertz was charged with possession of marijuana less-than-one ounce.
Feb. 19, a routine traffic stop on Palmetto Circle led to the arrest of Cody Lane Hallman, 17, of Baxley, and Jordan Emanuel Vann, 19, of Baxley. Both were charged with V.G.C.S.A./marijuana.
Feb. 14, answered a call to Lamar Crosby Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated she and her ex-husband had an altercation. The complainant was advised of legal action she could take.
Feb. 14, complainants came to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office to report a theft of agricultural products. The complainants stated a subject came to his pecan farm and paid only half for pecans he received and stated he would pay the balance when he returned to pick up another load. The subject has been contacted and refuses to pay. Investigation continues.
Feb. 14, answered a call to Alan Harvey Drive/Surrency in reference to damage to livestock. The complainant stated he had fifteen missing chickens and he had seen a dog chasing the chickens.
Feb. 14, answered a call to Cypress Drive in reference to harassing communication. The complainant stated his daughter’s boyfriend has been texting threats toward him.
Feb. 15, a routine traffic stop on Highway 341 led to the arrest of David Luke Adams, 35, of Nicholls. Adams was charged with driving while license withdrawn, no insurance, driving while tag is suspended, tail lights required, drugs to be kept in original container, V.G.C.S.A.
Feb. 15, answered a call to MLK Avenue in reference to harassment. The complainant stated her ex-husband would not allow her to get her items from the residence. The complainant was advised of legal action she could take.
Feb. 16, answered a call to Red Dot Road in reference to financial card fraud. The complainant stated unknown subject was using her debit card and monies had been taken from their checking account. Complainant notified bank and stopped the debit card. Investigation continues.
Feb. 17, answered a call to Lamar Crosby Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated a subject started throwing her furniture in the yard, which led to an affray. The offender had left the residence before officer arrived.
Feb. 18, answered a call to Fowler Road in reference to shots fired. A subject stated a silver and black helicopter landed on Highway 121 and a person was shooting at him trying to kill him. Investigation continues.
