Superintendent Scarlett M. Copeland reported that Appling County Schools are off to a great start in 2014. Teachers, paraprofessionals, program directors, and administrators reported on Monday, January 6, 2014 for In-Service Day.
All staff members and administrators worked diligently to prepare for the students return. Despite much cooler temperatures, students reported on Tuesday, January 7, 2014.
Copeland reported that parents and students are to be applauded for good attendance on these cold mornings.
In order to carry on this great start, all staff members and administrators are continuing to educate students in all academic areas. As parents, talk to your child daily about what they are doing in school and set high expectations for their performance. Your interest in their school journey encourages them to do their best.
Also, encourage good attendance and have an avenue of communication between yourself, as a parent, and your child’s teacher. Constant communication ensures better understanding of what your child is learning and expected to do.
The education of all children is a wonderful, shared responsibility between the parents and the school system and the school system looks forward to assisting you with a successful school experience with your child.
