Brown Funeral Home announces the death and funeral services for Kelrin Marice Henry who died December 22, 2013. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28 from 2nd Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Surrency with the Reverend Elijah Jones presiding and eulogist. Interment was in Miles Cemetery.
Kelrin was born in Baxley on April 14, 1976 to the parentage of Edna Dent Henry and Lawrence Henry. He attended the schools of Appling County and was employed for a number of years at the Everett, Dykes and Grassing Company in Surrency.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, the Rev. Amos and Mamie Henry and John and Catherine Dent, sisters, Mary Ann and Martha Ann Henry, and his aunt, Lorine Kent-Durden.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Whitney Suzanne Henry of Baxley; his mother, Edna Dent Henry of Baxley; his father, Lawrence Henry of Atlanta; four children, Jamal Nelson of Statesboro, Ontaja Smith of Hinesville, Jeremiah Wicker of Baxley and Kenodrick Henry of Metter; five sisters, LaVerne (Pharris) Proctor of Hinesville, Diane (Jeff) Henry of Baxley, LaKeshia (Timmy) Jackson of Baxley, Tosha Howard and Erica (Kenrie) Newkirk of Baxley; two brothers, Terry (Sabrena) Henry of Atlanta, and Maurice Howard; four aunts, Mary Ann Elliott of Atlanta, Margie (Conrad) McDuffie of Albany, Joyce Dent of Hollywood, FL and Cindy List of Rutherford, N.C.; 11 uncles, Jack Henry of Baxley, Billy (Dolrease) Henry of Baxley, Marvin (Nettie) Henry of Atlanta, James (Betty) Deen of Alma, Lankford Henry, Kenny Henry, Joe Henry, James Kent, Eddie Dent, all of Baxley; John W. (Sally) Dent of Walthourville and Carl (Peggy) Kent of Hartford, Conn.; a mother-in-law, Daphne (Buddy) Kersey of Baxley; a father-in-law, Phil Allen of Baxley; three brothers-in-law, Phillip Allen, Christopher Allen and Cameron Allen; special friends, Kevin Harrington, Chris Clemons, Donnie Reaves and James Leggett, all of Baxley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Active pallbearers were Phil Allen, Billy Henry, Alfonso King, Jack Henry, John Dent, Derrix Henry and Chris Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers were Everett, Dykes and Grassing Staff and Docs Grill staff.
Musical selections were rendered by the Voices of Genesis, Terrance Gibson and Gwen Ryals.
