The Appling County Branch of the NAACP is proud to announce the festivities for MLK. The Grand Marshal Program will be held on Friday, January 17 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Baxley, the guest speaker will be Dr. Princess Ndow. The Grand Marshal is Bishop Lucious Rogers. The theme is “Embracing the Past, Building the Future.”
The MLK parade will be on Saturday, January 18 at 2:00 p.m. Line up at 1:00 p.m. at the Parker-Harrell Center on Junior High Drive. Vendors are welcome. For more information, please contact, Larry NeSmith, Sr. at 912-367-2862.

About Bishop L.C. Rogers
Bishop L.C. Rogers was born in Baxley to late Ethel and Hughie Rogers. He was raised in Baxley.
Bishop L.C. Rogers accepted Christ at an early age at First Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Baxley, where Pastor Amos Henry ordained him as a Deacon as well as ordained him as a minister 1972.
Heeding the voice of the Lord, in 1974 he was called to Pastor in the body of Christ. He is the Bishop of the Full Gospel Fellowship Ministry.
Bishop L.C. Rogers has labored for the Lord for 50 plus years. God has blessed Bishop Rogers to “Live the Dream”. He is the first African American to be elected into Appling County Government, where he served faithfully on the
Board of Commissioners for 16 years. He also served on the Board of Satilla Rural Electric Membership Cooperation for 22 years.
Bishop L.C. Rogers is well known throughout the Appling County community. Many pastors, leaders and people from the community look to him for his God given wisdom, and guidance. He is the founder and owner of CBH Inc., which is a family operated Construction Company that specializes in church building and maintenance.
Bishop L.C. Rogers is a family man and believes family is the core of God’s plan. He is the husband of Idell Wilkerson-Rogers and father of seven wonderful children: Terrie Rogers, Reginald Rogers (Meronica Rogers), Lucious Calvin Rogers Jr. (Janice Rogers), Deone Rogers, Larone Rogers, Brendon Rogers (Sarah Rogers) and Karl Rogers. He has been blessed with twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
While “Living the Dream” Bishop L.C. Rogers is consistently endeavoring to make Appling County a better place than when he arrived some seventy plus years ago.
