Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report that on December 4 Appling County Deputies made a routine traffic stop on Highway 341 led to the arrest of Cheryl Denise Hinson, 50, of Surrency. Hinson was charged with drugs to be kept in original container, possession of drug related object, driving on wrong side of road, and driving while license withdrawn.
The following are more highlights of activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
On Nov. 27, answered a call to Hatch Parkway South in reference to a theft. A complainant stated approximately 120 movies valued at $850.00 was taken from his residence. Investigation continues.
Nov. 29, answered a call to Melton Chapel Road in reference to a child custody dispute. A complainant stated his ex-wife would not let him have son for his visitation. Both parties were advised to see their attorney.
Nov. 29, answered a call to Alpine Drive in reference to a domestic dispute, which led to the arrest of James Tyler Stone, 20, of Baxley. Stone was charged with disorderly conduct.
Dec. 1, answered a call to Beaver Road in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated taken from the vacant residence was approximately $20,000 worth of items. Investigation continues.
