Jack Thomas
Jack Thomas, 83, died Sunday, January 16, 2011 in Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Mr. Thomas was born Jan. 4, 1928 in Appling County to the late Paul and Nantie Mae Herrington Thomas. He was a retired truck driver and a member of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Algena and Randy Smith and Nannette and Myron Sellers, both of Hazlehurst; one sister, Pauline Copeland of Hampton; granddaughters, Nicole Smith and Ashlee Smith, both of Hazlehurst; special nephew and nieces, Michael and Rebekkah Dennis and Paula Mills, all of Baxley.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with the Revs. Rick Brown, John Darsey and Charles Carter officiating. Interment followed in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Greg Sears, Lonnie Roberts, Ed Wilson, John Johnson, Bob Smithers and Steve Underwood.
Musical selections were rendered by Beverly Swain and Jeffery Spell.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 30 N. Tallahassee Street, Hazlehurst, GA 31539.
Arrangements were under the direction of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.
