Lucile Ford Thigpen, age 89, of Swainsboro, died early Saturday morning, November 16, 2013 at St. Josephs/Candler Hospital of Savannah after a brief illness. Mrs. Thigpen was a native of Toombs County, lived for many years in Baxley, and had resided in Swainsboro since 2010. She was a retired seamstress with 30 plus years of service with Miller Western Wear in Baxley. She was Baptist by faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Thigpen, ten siblings, and her son-in-law, Bobby Morris.
Mrs. Thigpen is survived by three daughters, Genell Morris of Vidalia, Shirley Riner and her husband, Denny, of Swainsboro, Faye Patrick and her husband, Lewis, of Vidalia; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Lucile Ford Thigpen were held Monday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with the Reverend Brian Patrick and the Reverend Barry Teutsch officiating. Interment followed in Harden’s Chapel Cemetery.
