Jeffie Ann Holland, age 76, of Baxley died Thursday, October 3, 2013 at her residence under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. Mrs. Holland was born September 27, 1937 in Davidson County, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Jefferson Curtis and the late Ann Eula Curtis Mould. She was a Deli Specialist for Publix Supermarkets in Tampa, Florida and Missy’s Daycare where she came to be known to many as “Dah Mama”. Mrs. Holland was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church. She was a loving mother to many and an avid baseball and football fan.
Survivors include her daughter, Gwen (Randy) DeWitt of Smithville, TN; two sons, Ricky (Brenda) Holland of Baxley and Mallard (Lorna) Holland of Tampa, FL; one brother, Terry Curtis of Brooksville, FL; seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous of nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers were Michael Chambers, Tom Merrell, Billy Mitchell, Ralph Henderson, Bud Merrell, Will Varnadore, and Thomas Henderson
Honorary pallbearers include Appling County Bucs Baseball Team: Shawn Brown, Benjamin Griffis, Drew Jacobs, Thomas Higgins, Luke Hutcheson, Brantly Carter, Parker Eason, Cason Kirksey, Colby Carter, Memphis Nobles, and Pete Ryals; Coaches are Brent Carter, Dylan Hutcheson, and Kyler Hutcheson and the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class at Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Gill and the Rev. Tommy Daniels officiating.
Musical selections provided by the Rev. Bryan Gill, Venisa Robinson, and Glynda Reeves.
Interment followed in Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sunday one hour prior to the funeral.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
