Phillip Deen was a revolutionary war solider in Coleman’s Company 10th North Carolina Regiment. Phillip had two sons, Nathan and Sterling. It is Nathan who most of the Deens of Appling County descend. Nathan’s son Smith Deen was the first to migrate to South Georgia coming to Appling County in 1820. Smith’s two brothers Martin and Jesse came to Appling County around 1822. These families were early pioneers of Appling County as well as Bacon, Ware, and Coffee County. Later generations of the Deen family were early pioneers of Flagler County, Florida.
Registration is at 10:00 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12:00 p.m. A short business meeting will follow after the meal. Bring your favorite dish to share with the family.
