Miles-Nobles Funeral Home announces the funeral services of Lucille Johnson, who passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at her residence under the care of Comfort Care Hospice. She was a native of Bacon County, living most of her life in Appling County; a homemaker and a member of Altamaha Baptist Church.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Johnson; a daughter, Sherri Branch and a granddaughter, Kami Branch.
Surviving is one son, Gary “Buddy” Johnson and Cindy Howard of Baxley; four grandchildren, Wayne and wife, Kim Branch, Jared Branch, Lacey and husband, Dustin Hunter and Garrett Lee Johnson; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Faye Jarrard, Helen McCardle and Louise Lamb; one brother, Grady Cothern and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation was held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 4 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church with the Reverend Joey Andrews and Sister Gail Johnson officiating.Interment followed in Zoar Cemetery.
The family assembled at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. with the processional leaving the funeral home at 1:30.
Active pallbearers were Terry Shiver, Auty Edenfield, Jarod Stone, Bryan Daniels, James Fennel and Kenneth Reynolds.
Honorary pallbearers were the staff of Comfort Care Hospice and friends.
