Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 28, a routine traffic stop on Ben Carter road led to the arrest of Eric Mitchel Blanton, 36, of Baxley. Blanton was charged with VGCSA/poss. of marijuana, DUI, driving while license withdrawn, open container in vehicle, failure to dim lights, failure to drive within a single lane and adult seatbelt violation.
June 29, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to trespass.A complainant stated someone drove a vehicle close to his front office door and spun dirt all over the front door.
June 30, answered a call to Janis Street in reference to a dead horse. A complainant stated her neighbor had a dead horse on his property. An officer talked with the neighbor and he stated he was in the process of burning the dead horse.
July 1, a suspicious subject was stopped walking on Thomas Street, which led to the arrest of Keith Allen Adams, 44, of Baxley. Adams was charged with VGCSA/Cocaine.
July 1, a complainant stated taken from his property on GW Turner Road were some welding leads and a brand new Bosh jig saw in the case valued at approximately $280.00. Randy McCumber is being held in the Wayne County Jail with Appling County hold for warrants on theft.
July 1, answered a call to O’Berry Drive in reference to a burglary.The complainants stated it appears someone is coming into their residence, and are taking food items, also found the bed was moved, and shower floor was found wet. Investigation continues.
July 1, answered a call to Williams Drive in reference to terroristic threats. The complainant stated his ex-wife threw his daughter out of the house and made threats against him.The DFACS was notified.The complainant was advised of procedure to file further prosecution.
July 2, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report harassment. A complainant stated her ex-boyfriend continues to come to her work and will not leave her alone.The complainant was advised of her rights.
July 3, answered a call to Golden Isles West in reference to an affray. A complainant stated several unwanted subjects were at her residence fighting.The subjects left the residence before officers arrived.
July 3, answered a call to Tanglewood Drive in reference to a domestic dispute, which resulted in the arrest of Brian James Kersey, 38, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
July 3, answered a call to Wayne Jones Road in reference to a domestic dispute, which led to the arrest of Jessica Deloach, 29, of Baxley.Deloach was charged with disorderly conduct.
July 4, answered a call to Ham Road in reference to an unresponsive person. A family member found Andrew Blevins, 37, of Baxley, unresponsive.The Appling EMT’s responded and the coroner was notified who stated he died of natural causes.
July 5, answered a call to Beatrice Lane in reference to identity fraud. A complainant stated a subject used her identity and created a credit card account without her knowing. Investigation continues.
July 5, answered a call to Strickland Circle in reference to prowlers, which led to the arrest of two subjects. Javier Francisco Jimenz, 41 of Baxley, and Feliciano Vasquez, 40, of Baxley.Both were charged with criminal trespass.
July 6, answered a call to Ten Mile Baptist Church in reference to a burglary.The pastor found doors pried open to the church and office, but nothing appeared to be missing at time of report. Investigation continues.
July 6, answered a call to Cleland Lane in reference to a theft. A complainant stated he found where someone had entered his camper and took two heavy-duty batteries valued at $300.00.
July 3, answered a call to Janice Street in reference to a theft.A complainant stated he found his wallet was missing after a friend left his residence. Investigation continues.
July 7, answered a call to Christian Springs Church Road in reference to a vehicle theft. A complainant stated his 2006 Ford F350 King Rancher was missing from his residence. The vehicle was entered into GCIC.The vehicle was found burned in Pierce County. Investigation continues.
