Willene Lewis Dell, 87, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Dell was born Oct. 16, 1925 in Coolidge to the late John Richard and the late Pearl Ella Adams Lewis. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Willene was a devoted Braves fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Dell, two daughters, Carolyn Sharpe and Dianne Ansley and a grandson, Mark Ansley.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Toney Sharpe, Susan and Jeffery Turner and Connie and Tony Arnold, all of Baxley; two sons-in-law, Dan Sharpe and Earnest Ansley; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Willene Lewis Dell were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4 at Swain Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Brown, the Rev. Darrell Quinn and Dusty Arnold officiating. Burial followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jason Ansley, Daniel Ansley, Da’Neil Sharpe, Jamie Sharpe, Rob Hinnant, Scotty Turner, Allen Turner, Andy Arnold, Dusty Arnold and Taylor Sharpe.
Honorary pallbearers were members of Woodlawn Baptist Church and Southern Care Hospice.
Musical selections were rendered by Daniel Ansley, Da’Neil Sharpe, Rachel Sauls, Ted Lewis, Genia White, Eileen Stone and Rev. Bryan Gill.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
